Spring Bucket List For Self Care

As a mother now that Easter is over, aside from fun spring activities, focusing on a spring bucket list for self care is on my mind! A new season calls for some new and exciting goals! Especially Spring time when cleanliness, declutter, and detox are major topics!

Do you remember those Saturday mornings when you’d wake up to your mother blasting music and cleaning the house?? Yeah me neither.. Jay Kay! Those days were definitely in my childhood. Those memories bring back that feeling of clarity and oh yeah the toxic smell of Windex and other cleaning chemicals 🤣 . But jokes aside, I am striving for those spring cleaning days in my home on a saturday morning. Especially now that we are still on lockdown here in Italy and have not much else to do😭

Well aside from all the health and mental benefits spring cleaning brings, there are a few other activities that would be great to add to your Spring bucket list! With wellness and self care in mind doing these activities every year will surely create a fun routine to look forward to every Spring!

You can use these Spring Bucket List Ideas to create and inspire your own list to fit your lifestyle!

I will also include each of the ideas in my vlogs on my youtube channel so subscribe to that if you’d like to see.

Here is that list!

Spring Bucket List For Self Care:

Plant An Herb Garden

Lets begin with this idea because the sooner you start the more time you have in the season to grow your herb garden. I love this one because herbs are, you know, smaller plants and it seems easier, like you have more control over ACTUALLY keeping these alive 😅

Here are great herbs for beginners:

  • Chives
  • Parsley
  • Cilantro
  • Mint
  • Basil
  • Thyme
  • Sage

I am no pro with gardening, however, we did have a pretty successful veggie garden last spring *toot* *toot* 😊 Seriously though it was a great learning experience and I feel not as much a ‘dummy’ over gardening as I did before and I know that one day when I have more space it will be bigger and better.

So, this year we are going in on this herb garden! The herbs I'm leaning towards are cilantro, basil, mint, chives, and sage. I would love to plant in my kitchen, but there isn't as much sun on that part of our home, so outdoors is likely.

You should do this with me and add it to your spring bucket list! It will be a great learning experience and will feel awesome when you have fresh herbs to cook with!

Pantry Clean Out

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

It’s time to clean out that pantry girl! Not only are we going to clean it out, but we are going to reorganize with new containers and jars (unless you already have it under control, then move on to idea number 3 😄)

Let’s head to ikea (or Amazon) soon and buy the necessary containers to label and store everything so that we can find it all easily. Your kids can easily find their favorite snacks, and your husband can stop asking where the peanut butter is. Plus it will also help keep your health in check because you will be able to clearly see what you have in stock and that will help motivate you to fill your pantry with clean ingredients and actually use them!

Natural Birth Control

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

If this is something you’re into or have been considering, then Spring time is a great time to start! I respect everyone’s personal lifestyle choices, however, I do know hormonal birth control can pretty much confuse your body and throw it out of whack, and that brings along side effects. There may even be symptoms that you are not aware of because they don’t seem serious, but it’s important to give your body the best conditions to thrive! So, getting off birth control can be a wonderful spring bucket list idea!!

You can follow the calendar method which trust me, gets easier as time goes on. I have used this method for the past 5 years with great results! Obviously, no new baby.

I like to use the app called Flo to track my cycle. It is awesome because aside from tracking your period and ovulation date, you can log in other things like how you’re feeling or what type of discharge you're currently experiencing. Another cool thing is there are many blog articles with tons of information included.

Getting off birth control over 8 years ago has been one of the best decisions I’ve made! My sex life is enjoyable and free because I dont have the burden of condoms (I am married though), and a major bonus is I am more aware and in touch with my body.

New Morning Routine

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

Spring brings a lot of new and freshness, so this is a great time to organize your time and create that new morning routine. You can add a workout, walk, meditation, planning, skincare, or any other tasks and self care habits!

Spring is perfect for changing things up a little to fit your current priorities or goals. Maybe you feel you’d like to focus more on journaling in the mornings, or switch your morning workout to a different part of your day and free up some time in the am for something else. For example, I’m planning to switch up my to do list to the end of the day so that when I wake up in the morning I already have everything listed and ready to execute. I also plan to add in some meditation amongst other changes!

Skincare Routine

Spring clean means new skincare routine (you like how I rhymed there? 🤣). But seriously this is the perfect time of the year to try out those new products you’ve been eyeing or maybe even simplify your morning skincare routine. Whatever works for you.

I recently posted my morning skincare routine which I love, love, for spring time and even summer. There’s so much freshness, color, and fruitiness involved! I am currently using Honest Beauty and plan to continue to use the current products until at least summertime. Which reminds me, I need to order another set because I’m running low!

Walks

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

Longer days and more sun means more outdoor time and a great opportunity to add more walking into your day. There are so many benefits of walking which I’m sure you’re already aware of, but here is some of that list below.

Benefits of Walking

  • Boosts immune system (by spreading immune cells)
  • Low stress exercise
  • High oxygen activity
  • Relaxed mind adds to stress relief

That is just to name a few good ones!

Walking throughout the entire year is always better and more beneficial for your health and life, but during the springtime taking nature walks and connecting with the beauty of the blooming and buzzing is amazing therapy! You begin to see all the new life and colors and it is beneficial to connect to the earth in that way!

We love to take family nature walks after dinner or earlier in the day on weekends. I also do a lot of nature walks with the girls on my own during the week after lunch. I know these are moments we will always cherish and remember together. The discoveries, scents, and scenery are exciting and fun. It is also a great time for everyone to take that breather and come home feeling refreshed and pumped. Morning walks during the week is one of our next hashtag #goals!

Coffee/Alcohol Detox

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

Maybe you’re trying to decrease your daily coffee intake or the amount of alcohol you drink every week? Either way this is the best time to detox and get you balanced so you’re not relying on it to get you through the day or night. Now is the best time to catch and realize what may or may not have gotten out of hand and take control of it to create better habits. A detox helps you become stronger without it and helps you focus on bringing in new better habits. A detox can be as little as 1 week or maybe 3 weeks or more.

Maybe instead of that cup of wine, in the evening, you can try a relaxing candle lit bath to help wind you down or read that book before bed to help you settle into the night time slumber. Maybe you realize you don’t want to drink so heavily on the weekend because you don’t want to feel like you’re recovering all week to get right back into drinking when the weekend comes back around. Remember we want to not only survive but we want to thrive, honey!

Or maybe you’re realizing that you cannot function without coffee and you’re not really liking the way things are headed. Or maybe you want to cut down to only one cup? Taking a week off coffee and substituting with something else like a tea or smoothie, can help you throughout the detox. If you want to go on a bigger gut detox I have a post here from a detox I did earlier this year!

Don’t get me wrong, that cup of wine or coffee isn’t a bad thing, but remember to keep yourself balanced and aligned with your body, mind, health, and overall goals, and a small but necessary detox can help!

Spring Wardrobe

Spring Bucket List For Self Care

A new wardrobe during the springtime is maw-velous doll-ing. With temperatures changing you want to move on from the darker oranges and browns to the more light and bright colors. And the fresh and lighter fabrics too!

Whether you’re the stay at home mom who lives in leggings and sneakers, or the mom who loves jeans or loves dresses. You can get springy with all parts of your wardrobe. For example, brighter workout gear, floral dresses, pastel tops, or even those cute light colored pajamas or silky and lacey lingerie!

I recently shopped at a few online boutiques and I am so excited to share with you my new items soon!

That is all for the spring bucket list for self love! I hope this list gave you some good ideas mama! Do you plan to do any of the above this spring? Anything else you’re planning?
