How to Romanticize Your Life

Have you ever wondered what it truly means to romanticize your life? I often receive questions on social media about how to romanticize your life or what it even means? With Valentine's Day around the corner, I thought this was the perfect time to discuss this concept. Don't get me wrong though, it isn't something we do only around Valentines day it actually has nothing to do with it. Romanticizing your life is like infusing magic into the mundane. Romanticizing life is about finding beauty in everyday moments and being grateful for the simple pleasures that make our existence extraordinary.

Mindset Shift

It all begins with mindset. We need to reprogram our mindset to find happiness and enjoyment in everyday chores and routines. It's about appreciating the experience of simple, daily life. We have been somehow programmed to believe that life is only important or more worthy when we show off that we are on a big yearly trip or that fancy event.

Thanks to social media where we often see people showing off that part of their lives which can make us feel like our every day life isn't enough. Special events and expensive trips are definitely worth the hype and we should never feel bad for choosing to enjoy these special moments.

However, let's not forget that these events don't happen all that often. We are typically experiencing the mundane. We must remember to celebrate our regular everyday life, because that is enchanting too.

Savor Simplicity

Take time to enjoy the mundane—sit outside, feel the breeze, and indulge in a good book. Find joy in gazing out the window, appreciating sunlight or rain. Slow down and make it a priority to take moments of rest. Be intentional about looking around ourselves to appreciate what we have. Make eye contact with our loved ones. Listen to our children with our hearts.

Get rooted with the seasons

This is one of my favorite ways to romanticize my life. Root yourself in the seasons through decor, books, style, and activities. Eat food that is in season because quality peaches and watermelon won't be around all year. Bake a dessert with lemons in the summer and cinnamon and apples in the fall. Add some simple decor that will help align your home with the season. You can even do it yourself with things found in nature. It really helps balance us out as human beings when we align ourselves with the seasons. You don't need to overspend on whatever it is that Target is telling you to spend on. Of course that is okay too, but don't get carried away with overspending. You can simply thrift items or make items that align. Embrace the unique beauty that each season has to offer without the need for extravagance.

Gratitude & Beauty

Romanticizing is expressing gratitude for life's blessings. It's about making your life feel as beautiful and graceful as a Disney Princess movie, yes your life can really be that beautiful. If you allow your eyes to see it. It's about appreciating the simplicity of being alive. To be able to enjoy the simple things because it means we are physically capable, we are healthy, and breathing.

Practical Ways

Light candles, sing, dance, write, and read. Enjoy new hobbies that bring joy, from exercising to crafting and baking. Write letters, buy flowers, go on walks, and have picnics. Use your cherished dishes daily. Buy cute stationery. Incorporate beauty into your daily routine. Take breaks from electronics. Open your curtains first thing in the morning. Open your windows and allow the cool breeze in. Put on outfits that make you feel good daily! Buy the pretty matching pajama set. Enjoy tea and a book in the evening. Give your morning routine a makeover.

Celebrate Life With Others

Host simple gatherings, relish game nights, and smile more. Give strangers compliments. Go on coffee dates with friends or family. Make your husband a candlelit dinner. Cherish moments with loved ones, especially the little ones who grow up too fast.

Flow with life

Of course life can have its challenging moments. Romanticizing doesn't mean you're living a lie. It means you are grateful, you choose to see with eyes of love, you make the best out of most situations. With that being said, life can be difficult at times and that is why it is important to flow. Not be too strict on schedules or expectations. If plans were cancelled on the way, then pull over at a park and enjoy the outdoors.

If you and the kids had an overwhelming day then go out for ice cream after dinner on a weeknight ( of course I wouldn't do this without my husband because I don't drive at night alone with kids lol). Don't put pressure on yourself to accomplish something that doesn't feel right anymore. You don't have to finish that book that you lost interest in months ago. You can put the sewing needle down if sewing isn't something you're enjoying anymore.

Align with the moon cycles, align with the seasons, align within your body while still flowing with what feels natural.

Conclusion

Romanticizing your life is a journey of mindset, finding magic in the ordinary, and embracing the joy in every moment. So, light those candles, brew your favorite tea, and step into the enchanting world of a romantically embraced life.
